October is a month full of change – the season has officially shifted to fall, the weather across the country is getting cooler, and children are firmly cemented back into school. Dinner Shows
Our No. 1 recommendation for October is Medieval Times. Battle and dine inside an 11th century castle for a dinner show without compare on your Central Florida vacation with Medieval Times Orlando. Guests will literally go back in time with North America’s most popular dinner attraction that pins six knights against each other to compete for the honor of King’s Champion. With tickets for less at, you’ll cheer for your knight through fearless sword fights, enchanting horsemanship, a jousting tournament, and more. Medieval Times Orlando is known for its spellbinding feats, heroic knights, and thrilling adventures – there’s even a falcon flying through the arena! While watching the action unfold, you’ll be treated to a sumptuous four-course meal that includes garlic bread, roasted chicken, herb-basted potato, spare rib, tomato bisque soup, pastry of the castle, coffee and two rounds of select non-alcoholic beverages. Vegetarian meals are also available with notice. It’s a night of fantasy and excitement that nobody will forget!

Amway Center
The Amway Center has a jam-packed month of events, beginning with a slew of headlining concerts and acts visiting the City Beautiful in the next 31 days. Martin Lawrence (Oct. 6), Chayanne (Oct. 11), Gracias Christmas Cantata (Oct. 18) and Nicki Minaj & Future (Oct. 20) will be bringing their talents to this downtown area in October. The Orlando Magic return to the Amway Center with three preseason and four regular season games in October as well, while the Orlando Solar Bears kick off their season with four contests at home during the month.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts always has a diverse collection of shows playing, and October is no different, with a variety of concerts and shows taking center stage. Among those playing in the venue include: Disney Junior Dance Party! On Tour (Oct. 6), 4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince (Oct. 7), Carmina Burana (Oct. 12-14), Maxwell: 50 Intimate Nights Live (Oct. 16), Brett Eldredge: The Long Way Tour (Oct. 18), The Doobie Brothers (Oct. 19), Lewis Black: The Joke’s on US Tour (Oct. 20), Aziz Ansari (Oct. 21), Bob Dylan and His Band (Oct. 26), Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (Oct. 27) and Jersey Boys (Oct. 30-Nov. 4).

Theme Parks
The Walt Disney World Resort is heading straight from summer to the fall with some of the most popular special events that Disney has to offer! The highly-anticipated Epcot International Food & Wine Festival continues throughout the entire month of October, giving guests a culinary journey through the world and some of the most popular artists in the past few decades with the Eat to the Beat concert series! Also ushering in fall at the Magic Kingdom Park is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, which takes over the park on select nights throughout October, giving families the chance to experience the park’s top attractions, special shows, fireworks and a parade coupled with unlimited trick-or-treating.

Another one of the fall staples in Orlando is Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. This special ticketed event features scare zones, more haunted houses than ever before, and sinister entertainment like you’ve never seen before! This event is one of the most popular events to hit Orlando each year, so be sure to get your tickets early before they sell out!

This is only the beginning of the fun your family can have in Orlando this October. But before you come, check out all the savings you can get right here to make your family getaway more affordable!
