Shows
Our No. 1 recommendation for May is a family-favorite in Orlando, Blue Man Group! Located at Universal CityWalk, Blue Man Group is an experience for the senses, with blue-painted men entertaining guests with a mixture of music, comedy, improvisation and splattering paint. This small, intimate theater means that everyone gets to partake in the action, and it’s the perfect addition to your day if you plan on being at either of the Universal Orlando theme parks during your vacation! Tickets start from just $54 for Blue Man Group, which is a savings of over 15%!

Amway Center
The Amway Center in downtown Orlando has an exciting month ahead, with five major concerts headlining the schedule, playoff hockey and more! Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream visits Central Florida for three days from May 11-13, while the Orlando Solar Bears are taking on the Florida Everglades in the Kelly Cup Playoffs May 3, 4 and 6. Headlining concerts at the Amway Center include: Skillet/For King & Country (May 5), An Evening With James Taylor & His All-Star Band (May 9), Justin Timberlake (May 14), Maluma (May 20) and Luis Miguel (May 30).

If you like professional sports, you might also be interested in Orlando’s MLS team, Orlando City Soccer. They play home matches at the Orlando City Stadium in downtown on May 6 (Real Salt Lake), May 13 (Atlanta United) and May 26 (Chicago Fire).

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts
The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has a diverse collections of shows playing at the center in the month, including: Orlando Ballet’s Contemporary Wonders (May 4-6), Patti LaBelle (May 11), An Evening with Bill Nye The Science Guy (May 12), August Greene featuring Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins (May 15) and Bubble Guppies Live: Ready to Rock (May 20).

Theme Parks
Guests at Walt Disney World’s Epcot can enjoy the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival throughout May 28. This annual spring event features themed gardens, colorful topiaries, rock concerts and the ever-popular outdoor kitchens! The Garden Rocks Concert Series will include performances from: Herman’s Hermits, starring Peter Noone (May 4-7), Village People featuring Victor Willis (May 11-12), Don Felder, formerly of The Eagles (May 13-14), The Guess Who (May 18-21) and The Spinners (May 25-28).

With all of these shows and events taking place this May, there’s no better place to usher in summer than in Central Florida!
